I have been seeing Jamie for the last couple of months, and absolutely can’t recommend him enough. I love his holistic approach and looking at the bigger picture to try and piece together the reasons why my neck and hips are so painful. I always feel anxious when having to go to someone different when it comes to my health, but Jamie is so kind, friendly and understanding of people and how they are feeling. We have had some great results so far with my treatment and feel we are making some headway with all my aches and pains. If you are feeling nervous and not sure what to expect, Jamie is the guy for you.

I recently had a sports massage with Brad, due to extended periods of computer use, I suffer with neck and shoulder tension. Brad was able to work out all the knots in my back and shoulders. I have definitively felt the benefits ever since.

Brad gave me physio after I damaged my ankle ligaments playing rugby. Excellent in helping relieve the swelling initially then worked with me to help with recovery . Brad helped with taping up once I got back playing as well and my return was very swift

Brad has been working on my back and shoulders mostly over the last year and has given me exercises to do in my own time to strengthen and stretch the effected areas. I have recently had knee surgery so will be looking to him for some more physio work to help me achieve my goals in recovery! Brad offers a Fabulous service, good knowledge and a friendly face! Big thumbs up!!!

I really look forward to my adjustments with Jamie. I always walk out feeling looser and grounded. I’m quite inquisitive and he answers my questions fully and has a great sense of humour. I’m so grateful he’s helped me feel like me again. I highly recommend going to see him!! 🙏🏻

My experience with Skelian has been overwhelming positive. I have had lower back pain on and off for a good few years but Jamie has been able to assist with making things more comfortable for me since beginning treatment. I can’t thank Jamie enough for giving me the ability to train again without fear of enduring discomfort afterwards. Simply amazing service!!

Heel Pain

Heel pain is a common complaint that can be debilitating, affecting daily activities and quality of life. At Skelian Chiropractic Clinic, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive care for those suffering from heel pain. This page offers detailed information on the causes, treatments, and frequently asked questions regarding heel pain.

Common Causes and Conditions of Heel Pain

Heel pain can arise from various conditions, often related to overuse or injury. The most prevalent causes include:

  • Plantar Fasciitis: Inflammation of the plantar fascia, the tissue connecting the heel bone to the toes, typically causing sharp pain in the arch and heel.
  • Achilles Tendonitis: Overuse of the Achilles tendon, leading to pain at the back of the heel.
  • Bursitis: Inflammation of the bursa, a fluid-filled sac under the heel bone, resulting in redness, swelling, and dull aching pain.
  • Heel Fractures: Sudden sharp pain from an injury, often accompanied by swelling and difficulty walking.
  • Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome: Compression of the tibial nerve, causing a burning or tingling sensation under the heel.

Treatments for Heel Pain

The approach to treating heel pain is multifaceted, involving self-care measures, professional interventions, and lifestyle modifications:

  • Hands-on care: Manual therapies such as physiotherapy, massage, chiropractic care can help identify and provide care for certain conditions.
  • Shockwave therapy: One of the latest forms of treatment for treating heel pain.
  • Rest and Ice: Reducing activity levels and applying ice can help alleviate symptoms.
  • Medication: Over-the-counter pain relievers like ibuprofen can reduce inflammation and pain.
  • Supportive Footwear: Shoes with good arch support and cushioning can prevent further aggravation1.
  • Orthotics: Custom-made insoles may be recommended to provide additional support. We can provide you with these as well as advice at Skelian clinic.

Treatment Options for Heel Pain

When self-care measures are insufficient, professional treatment options may include:

  • Diagnostic ultrasound:  This form of imaging is offered at the clinic to help accurately identify the cause of the problem.
  • Physiotherapy: Exercises to increase mobility and strengthen the foot muscles.
  • Corticosteroid Injections: To decrease inflammation and provide pain relief.
  • Surgery: In rare cases, surgical intervention may be necessary to correct the underlying issue.
